Celebrating Award and National Libraries Day 2016 - Home and Away

L-R Festus George Sawyerr, Amanda Epe, Elena Marcia, interviewer Lindsay Johns, Carol Sammy, Baldip Kaur and Michael A Campbell.

On 6th February six selected authors were celebrated for the first of Brent celebration of local authors including Carol Sammy - Mercy Cried No, Festus George Sawyerr - The Deepest Form of Relaxation, Elena Marcia - The Truth Behind The Shadow, Baldip Kaur - Fanish and Michael A Campbell - I Am Not Myself. Each of these talented authors read excerpts from their books following or during their interviews with writer and broadcaster Lindsay Johns. It was a warm atmosphere with authors having comrade spirits and discussions on romance, child trafficking, health and well-being, poetry and the Caribbean were some of the topics raised from the books.

On the same night at Terra Kulture Lagos the Nigeria Writers Award celebrated authors at home and away, and I was delighted to have the honour of winning the Non-Fiction author of the year 2015 by Judges choice. I am thankful to Modest Diko and the NWA team to recognise my works of A Fly Girl book and celebrate me with many outstanding writers of different genres.
