Celebrating & Embracing Equity

 The Last Post

International Women's Day

It's ten year this March since this blog was created to share stories for women empowerment. After ten years it is a time to reflect and even consider this post being the last post, since the posts are becoming few and far in between. The Last Post (November 2022) coincidentally mentioned The Last Post on sharing my Flying for Britain short educational film launch, where The Last Post was played as The Standard was raised. Blogging is a great way to disseminate information on stories, projects created and collaborating with, so it's not easy to quit this blog sphere when there's always something more to share.

March is Women's History Month and this year I've been leading on a project close to my heart called the Brent Women of Renown, a national lottery heritage funded project awarded to Cricklewood Town Team. It's been a fascinating journey getting around the primary schools to deliver storytelling and creative workshops on the suffragette movement and women in STEM on Violet Doudney, Amy Johnson and Dame Stephanie Shirley, working with inspirational teachers as well as their students. This has been a great opportunity to share women empowerment stories on change making women and seeing the impact it has on the children. As we continue to embrace equity and reflect on history we celebrate how far we have come. As there is still a way to go, I guess it's not the legacy last post???
